Road works

Actually its the way home from work, as you can see its not a route that is subject to many delays, other than the odd sheep, who has lost the will to live, or in adverse weather conditions the occasional snow drift poses the biggest risk.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  2. Wow! What a gorgeous photo!

  3. Ditto what they said. :)

  4. Yes me too! That hazard label really adds something to it. It’s unusual to see one of those laying in the roadside!

  9. Hi, we spoke today,(Thurs.) at the Grouse pub watching the helicopter!
Sorry, didnt catch your name. You told me about your blog, just had a good look through it, very impressed! I think it really catches the spirit of living in these parts and is a good reminder of why my family and I live here.
Great photography too, I look forward to seeing your helicopter photos.
Shame they cant capture that great sound too!

    Regards, Adrian.

    • Hi Adrian, thanks for calling in! Photos should be up by this evening.
The sound of that helicopter was something else, a Peak District low budget episode of MASH, what with the sound gun fire coming from the other side of the road!

Come on, join in.
