Sublime Saturday
April 19, 2008You know the feeling, when you wake and realise that ahead of you lies two consecutive days, free of commitments; that you can get up potter about in your dressing gown, do few things you’ve been planning all week or if you fancy you can stay under the duvet for a wee while, or maybe just trawl the newspapers and blogs with a mug of tea or two. Lovely isn’t it? Zen like, calm, all at peace with the world.
I can usually manage to make this ‘cats got the cream’ contentedness last till about ten thirty on Saturday morning, by which time I realise that my ‘wish list’ and ‘to do’ list for the weekend are way over ambitious and I will end the weekend feeling I haven’t quite achieved what I set out do: it’s my own fault. I need to be a little more realistic about it all, I am trying, I’ve started already, look it’s not yet 8am and I’ve already realised I am planning to do too much this weekend, this realisation comes more than two hours ahead of schedule, that is an improvement isn’t it?
(And to readers of this blog who work shifts, I know you work weekends and nights, they are horrid antisocial hours, OK, but you do get days off sometimes don’t you?)
The photograph were taken on the way to work one day this week, thick mist was just clearing, the top photo is a sculpture in a country park, it may looks spring like, but I can assure you it was very cold
