Without a dinghy, because some one has nicked our inflatable dinghy from the roof rack of the car, we still have the paddles though, how handy is that. So if anyone happens across a Quicksilver 260 grey inflatable dingy, with blue stripe, we would very much like it back, just like Mr Cameron would like his bike back.
A bottle of red is owed to the ‘boy Caddy’ and the the staff of Weymouth’s finest boat chandlers., who’s meticulous record keeping and well maintained IT system (better make that two bottles of red then) allowed us to access the serial number for the dinghy at the click of a mouse; our insurance company want us to place an add in the local paper, offering a reward, but we are not optimistic. We were not alone, there were other ‘marine thefts’ in the area on the same night, it will I fear have sailed off into the sunset or (Ebay.)
I would like to post a picture of our dinghy, bobbing about in the Salcombe estuary, during happier times but the Internet connection is so creaky I can’t manage to upload any photographs, like the theft of the boat, this was not part of my holiday master plan, so blog posting and reading may be scant.
Never mind, I know the location of the cork screw, and it works, result.

All at sea, eh? Sorry!
Ah! Thats a bugger! Scrotes!
Enjoy the wine and the rest of your holiday!
All at sea? Maybe, but not wrecked at least.
What rotten luck! Sorry to hear about your missing dinghy ~ but hopefully having the details will help track it down. Weymouth is a lovely place and I as I was there just a few years ago, I can picture it easily! Sounds like you’re still in good spirits (pun intended) and able to enjoy the holiday
Some people are spoil sports aren’t they? I hope it doesn’t spoil your holiday.
Have a lovely time – the weather seems to have perked up nicely for you at least!
Just to check; was the second bottle of Red for the Chandler’s IT manager?
BiL (and IT Manager!)
God some people. They will nick owt. Ebay may be a good place to look though.
Is the man still there doing the sculptures in the sand and of course the PUNCH& JUDY MAN.
Well enjoy your holiday.
Looking forward to some pics
So sad for you but so common. Down here in Lymington Sailability fund raised for months, including a blind lady sailing solo round the Isle of Wight with radio directions, to raise money for a RIB as a safety boat. It was stolen before they even launched it – so if anyone sees a new RIB with Lymington-sailabity down the side ……
Try putting notices/pictures in local (to where you were) sailing clubs – it is often the youngsters out in dinghies who are most observant.
BiL, yes and you drank it on Tuesday night
Laid back runner, I’ll try with the pics, but having a few technical problems.
Dd, how callous is that, it puts our loss into perspective. Tom is now boat watch, the boys saw a Sailability boat in the harbor yesterday
