When I came down to my desk this morning I could see across the valley, all blue skies and Spring loveliness, then, just as Mr Uphilldowndale rolled out on his bike to ride to work, the mist rolled in.
Now I can’t see much further than across the lane.
Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England.
Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it!
I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing.
On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell!
Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.
The knee has come along very well thank you. The fall hasn’t put me off cycling at all – I’m just a bit more careful with potentially slippery surfaces. The finger I dislocated is still a bit swollen, but I’ve finally been discharged (a couple of weeks ago) by the physio, and I’m not feeling any after-effects of the clot in my leg. All in all I think I’ve come off pretty lightly!
Um, I trust you both found your way back through the swirling mystery? (I read far too many Agatha Christie stories when I was in my formative years. What were my parents thinking?)

See that line about the mist rolling in – now I have a certain (very cheesy) McCartney song in my head.

I hope that it cleared and was a nice day. It was a bit misty here early this morning. xx
