Tonight we beach buddies will be gathering together for a feast and watching the opening ceremony of the Olympic games at the holiday cottage with the biggest TV. I hear a rumour steak is on the menu, I’m pretty sure it will be British and as I’m pudding monitor I can vouch for the British strawberries, although there are a few French blueberries involved, but that is the spirit of the Olympic games, isn’t it?
A friend who was involved in the building of the stadium, attended the dress rehearsal for the opening ceremony, all she will say is that it is amazing.
I’m twenty minutes late already, I must away. Enjoy.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England.
Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it!
I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing.
On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell!
Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

I managed to catch some of the opening ceremony (and mistook Kenneth Branagh for Harry Enfield initially – oops) but a long week of early starts caught up with me just after Rowan Atkinson made me chuckle. What I saw looked spectacular, must check the iPlayer for the rest. I actually know a couple of the kids who sang Flower of Scotland (that’s my Olympic claim to fame!).

I would have enjoyed the food, but had no inclination to watch the event. xx

I’ve been away (in Tanzania) for some time. Back again now I’m trying to be updated with my daily world (and blogging) – and a lot of photos! AND The Olympic Games in London – I will enjoy many moments from this in TV the following days
