Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England.
Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it!
I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing.
On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell!
Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

Aaaah… that’s sweet. Bless them. It was a bit like that here yesterday but without the laid-back animals. Rani regarded herself as an important member of Team Christmas, and tried to give all the decorations a good chewing before they went up, including the tree,
Jammy looks like he’s listening intently to some Spaniel pearls of wisdom. Our cat is vaguely miffed that her new sleeping spot under the tree has been taken over by gifts, all bearing shiny paper (which for some reason she hates and has taken up residence on my youngest’s pillow.
The kitten cats are working as a team with Spud, they get the baubles off the tree, Spud charges around the house with a glass bauble in his mouth, just as well spaniels are soft mouthed!!

That makes me quite wistful remembering such a pair from long ago. We are well-supplied with dogs this holiday, but missing catitude very much.
May all of you have a Cosy Christmas indeed.
