The strong wind was whipping the clouds along at a rate of knots, the light, changing so fast that the moments were hard to capture, I had to be quick off the mark, which meant I abandoned the family to their own devices yet again, Mr Uhdd was expecting me to cut his hair when I dashed to take these shots (he should be grateful I wasn’t half way through the job.)
Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England.
Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it!
I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing.
On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell!
Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.
Brings back memories of riding along the Tissington Trail in similar weather. Now whenever i’m horse riding on days like that I always think of Derbyshire and wish I was back there.
I love the drama, too! I’m amazed at how familiar this landscape looks – then realize I’ve been visiting it for quite awhile now. Bracing place. Interesting people. Challenging ideas. OK, and a lovely goofball sense of humor, too.
Beautiful. Every time I see your landscape photos, I feel like I’m back in your beautiful country and that’s a good feeling. It’s so nice to know that you can live there and find it as unique and wonderful as a visitor does.

Great photos, love the one with the gate. The drama of stormy skies is wonderful but the wind I can do without I fear!

Beautiful shots.
I’ve always liked the contrast between the spring colors and storm skies, too. Those dark grey skies really bring out the colors in the plants.

I never get bored with stormy skies.
