Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

Cotton Grass

Up on the moors there has been a fabulous show of cotton grass this year (although it has now probably  been pummelled by the rain) I took these a couple of weeks ago.

It’s a very different scene than the last time I was up here

(A new bit of wire installed by BT  this morning has speeded up the Internet connection, horary, it’s not broadband, but it will do!)

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. I am glad that you are back. The cotton grass is beautiful and I like the touch in the second photo of the bus riding along.

  2. That is truly striking. I wonder that romantic young couples don’t have their weddings in meadows like that – though perhaps like many things the cotton grass is best admired from a distance.

  3. Terrific images, especially the first one! xx
