Boat one-1446

there is something to see in Salcombe

Classy boat 2

(This one must look just so elegant under sail.)

This weeks sees the start of the Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta, which brings a wholesome mix of club racing boats to the water,

Skiff 3

there should be plenty of photo opportunities in the week to come, weather permitting.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Nothing quite so fine as messing about in boats. You are having a grand time, aren’t you!

  2. It looks like loads of fun. 🙂

  3. It’s the elegant sailing ship for me – but I’m like you, water is definitely not my element. It looks as though you are having a wonderful time in Devon, it’s a beautiful county isn’t it? It looks as though you are having much better weather than we are back in the wilds of Derbyshire where sun has been in short supply!

  4. I like proper sailing boats! Terrific photos! xx

  5. I am fairly sure that elegant yacht came into Lymington at the end of July – we were all watching her from the Race Office (Fireflies again) as she came up the river – just beautiful.

Come on, join in.
