New Beginnings

There is growing excitement in the house. So much so that  the boys have regressed into counting how many ‘big sleeps’ it is until the day, when Spud arrives.

This is Spud aged five weeks.

Spud 1-3

He’s a Springer spaniel.  After so much canine heartache of late, we are hoping for happier times, the start of a beautiful friendship, a happy family pet and a fell-running companion for Mr Uhdd (obviously Spud will need to grow a bit first.)

I’ll let you know as soon as he gets here: if this blog gets a bit puppy besotted over the next few weeks, please  feel free to give me the ‘qwerty’ equivalent of a nudge in the ribs, cheers.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  6. Miss Sadie and the Cowboy feel that there can never be too much attention given to the canine members of the family. Miss Puss, on the other hand . . . well, you know how she is.

  7. I wish you a long and good time together.
I read your long post about Moses. Everyone who have had a dog -or pet of any kind, will understand your dilemma. You did the right thing. But it is still hard to make the decision.

  8. Aww he looks adorable, I can fully understand why you are all so excited. I hope you will all be very happy together.

  9. Instantly reverting to girly cries of “Awwwwwww!!!!!” He is beautiful!

  11. Spud is an adorable puppy ! So happy for you all 🙂 I feel sure he will grow into a dear companion to all; Spud will receive and give lots of love ! As our 4 months old Ninio does.

  12. Oh, I’m in love already. Spud, you’re a real babe! I look forward to plenty more puppy pics. Keep them coming. You can’t go wrong with a Springer spaniel. My lovely Jess was half Springer, as you know. And wasn’t she a darling?

Come on, join in.
