Spud, keep you ears off the kitchen table; please.

Table manners-2

Spud has perfected the skill of pulling out the kitchen chairs and taking a seat at  the table.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Thanks for helping me restore my Blog to it’s former glory! Also, Spud could be used to polish the table with those ears. Great photo as always, but then you do have the most adorable subject. The photos you kindly took of our dog are our favourites, one day I shall post them too!

  2. The Cowboy wonders why he is not allowed to place his ears upon the table in this fetching manner. Informed that his ears reek of fish since his midnight adventure on the beach, he remains puzzled. People, he thinks. There is simply no accounting for them.

  3. We found him asleep on the table this morning.

  4. I love that look, and as for your above comment…! xx

  5. Spud, you are adorable 🙂 your distant cousin here, Ninio-the-Beagle has the same small spots on his white muzzle and ears, large and smooth, that could be used to polish the table, as inspectorgadget says 😉 you two know how to make “imploring eyes”. Great portrait of you, Spud !

  6. Its a good photo
Made me smile . Oh and the snowflakes are back

  7. Loving this photo.
Spud seems to have an eye for the chance!

  8. Asleep on the table? Good one. Our first cat used to sleep in the bathroom sink. Turning the taps on cured him of that!

  9. He could take his meals at table too. Wouldn’t that be cute?! Well, no. In fact, I hope he doesn’t jump up when you are all eating yours, jump up then run off with a pork chop. It could happen.

I think having a pup is taking it out of me. I seem to be seeing stars. Oh no, it’s these ___ snowflakes. I feel dizzy!

  10. This ia a gem of a photograph.

    Best wishes for 2010
