New Years Day

We were stirred from a late lunch stupor (where the remains of last nights damson trifle went down a treat) by a call to arms; a beautiful sunset, the house is awash with cameras and their enthusiastic proprietors and none of us could let at sky like this pass us by.

Sunset New Years day-2

Its glory lasted less than five minutes, which was just as well as we had all nipped out with out our coats  on and it is a tad cold.

We had a shower of snow this morning, which looked very pretty on the holly (shame I couldn’t muster a bright red berry or two.)

It was good that our friend ‘Mr Redcar’, didn’t have to drive anywhere today, as his wheels aren’t really suited to such conditions.

Do you like our colour coordinating chicken?

I’m sure there must be a ‘why did the chicken cross’ the road pun in this image, but my brain is too addled to find one, I’ll leave that to you dear reader. But I do remember that this chicken has featured in snowy shots before

  1. I came across your blog a few days ago when I was doing some bloghopping (I know I need to get out more) and have enjoyed seeing your photos.

That sunset is beautiful and I love the sprinkling of snow on the holly and larch.

Sadly our sprinkling of snow came after it had gone dark so I couldn’t get any pics.
