Is it today or was it last night? We’ll take the tree and put away the bowl of shiny red baubles (that never made it into the decoration I’d planned them to be, never mind, you can’t do everything; I’ll try again next year.)
But I don’t want to take down the lights from the kitchen window. If you’ve not seen them before, these are the lights my mother bought for her first Christmas in her own home 62 years ago.
She bought them from the Co-operative store in the village, I’ve re-strung them on modern lamps: I’m very sentimental about them and I also think they are pretty
They may have to stay up a wee while longer, maybe till the snow melts.
