Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. This is very pretty! I particularly love the second delicate image.

  2. You’ve got some fantastic photos on here – I love the one of Spud in the snow and the ‘frozen prawn’ of a wall as well as your stunning hoar frost ones!

I really should go down to the canal …hadn’t thought of that – I think my brain is in hibernation mode this week as I’ve had 3 snow days as the schools I work in were all closed!

Haven’t managed to get close enough to the birds to get good photos – Ceefer cat scares them away as he follows me around like a puppy! I did see 2 foxes hurtling round the garden earlier …until the 2nd one nabbed what the 1st one had caught – a blackbird, I think 😦

  3. Now I’m enchanted with the very name, Rosebay willow herb . . .

And I like the crooked alder branch and admire the bokeh. (I have been hanging out at Scott Thomas’s site and acquiring the lingo, if none of the skills.)

  4. The second image really catches the eye! xx

  5. Beautiful! It must be very cold that even direct sun doesn’t melt such delicate ice crystals.

  6. Wow, UHDD! You got some beautiful and amazing images here. Looking forward to seeing more if you have them.

  7. Right now then, I’ve reinstated Winter Wonderland II, as it was originally (I had over written it), I think it all makes sense now, Kate and Robin, you may find this is not the post you thought it was….. next task, put WWIII back where it should be!

  8. Why oh why is your snow so beautiful and mine is not?

Come on, join in.
