Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

Heading South

I said I wanted to migrate to better weather, well I’ve come south, bringing the boys and Spud  to Weymouth  down on the south coast ( for Spuds very first sleepover.)

Driving conditions  on the M5 were not pleasant

There was a particularly unpleasant moment when a passing van chucked up so much slush we couldn’t see a thing. It was like driving with my eyes closed, not an experience I’d wish to repeat.

I was very glad to arrive safely

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. not good conditions at all
its been a hard winter on the roads

  2. Good to hear you arrived safe! Hope the weather improves for your stay!

  3. That is what I would call white-knuckle driving. I don’t mind winter in general, but I hate driving in slush. Bleah. I’m glad you made it safely. Sleep well. Have a nice time.

  4. I hope you were not driving and shooting.

Come on, join in.
