The Wrong Trousers

We’ve been away for a few days, to Wales. The weather was beautiful, lovely warm and sunny. I packed the wrong trousers, something less ‘winter weight’ would have been in order. But I did pack the sun cream.

There were lots of my favourite things to see

especially lumps of rock,  on the subject of lumps of rock, take a look at this Derbyshire ladies lucky escape

We had a wonderful time, but now I’m playing catch up, I’ll be back in a day or so.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. What an amazing rock formation and structure. Thanks for sharing this (wrong trousers..and all!)

  2. Is all of Wales as lovely as the northern shoreline? We drove across a few years ago going through to take a ferry to Ireland. It was spectacular. Would love to go back.

  3. Wonderful place and great composition.

  4. oh boy, no matter what i pack it always seems to be the wrong thing! No matter, glad you had a nice break.

  5. A person who goes traveling in a place with Weather can never have the right trousers. But it turns out that a person can always manage to overlook that for the right view. Nice lumps of stone, those–pleasingly arranged.

  6. Meet another who never travels in the “right” clothes! I always end up either (a) shivering in a t-shirt or (b) sweltering in long sleeves.

    Nice picture.

  7. North Face trousers are what you need Uphill. You can quickly turn them into shorts as they have press stud legs on them. I live in them in summer.
Thought of you the other day, I cycled to Bakewell and saw a shop selling Tilly Hats.
    Good post.

  8. Sounds like a nice break away ~ hard to know what to wear with such varied weather everyone seems to be experiencing. Lovely to see your photo ~

…but the link to the woman’s car with the “stone” on the roof ~ holy smokes! Unbelievable.

  9. You chose a very good angle for this photo. What a fantastic landscape. I couldn´t help thinking of Wallace and Gromit, when I saw your headline. I love this great humorous English animation film. I hope that YOUR wrong trousers doesn´t have the same consequences. 🙂

Come on, join in.
