I Don’t Fancy Fish Tonight

I promised you I’d bring you tales of fish from Bakewell tonight. But I’m not of that frame of mind, so I shall exert blog writers privilege, and serve a different dish of the day.

Something yellow.

just yellow-2

and more yellow.

Buttercups and clover-2

I’ve been trying to capture Spud’s antics in the field (the grass is long enough now that he has to leap around like a gazelle to find his way about).

But it hasn’t been a great success he either faces the wrong way,

Spud with buttercups-2

or he runs off for a chat with the neighbours

talking with the neighbours -2

Or I miss him completely

missed again.-2

Sigh, I’ll try again tomorrow

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. The yellow blooms are so nice. Wish I could achieve bokeh like that. And it’s always fun to see Spud at work and play.

I think you would enjoy seeing Karma’s experiments–she was working on a Creative Exposure Assignment and chose her collie as the model. Well, the collie and a squeaky ball.

  2. I think those pictures demonstrate Spud’s personality better than any posed shot could.

  3. I just found you through Jo at Pieceful Afternoon. What a DELIGHTFUL blog. Your dog pictures are darling, I think you were very successful. Oh, do come by for a visit.

  4. hi mrs uhdd, arh, that bay one has a grumpy old face on it, i wonder if the other is saying something unpleasant! he he.

  5. What a beautiful collection of “yellow” pictures. I love them all – even the “missed” one.

Come on, join in.
