Blue Sky Thinking-2

Back to work tomorrow, we’ve left Devon behind, for another year.

Sigh.

Blue Sky Thinking 1-2

(Shhhh, don’t tell anyone,  but I actually like coming home, more than I like going away.)

I’ve a few more blog posts to squeeze out of my photos yet though. Which is just as well there is much here that require my attention.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. There is no place like home – but we appreciate it more when we leave it, even for a short while.

And you had some wonderful days and beautiful pictures.

  2. Wonderful views ~ always great to see home on the horizon.

  3. I too like coming home again after being away. I enjoy the feeling of arriving in a new place or in a cherished familiar place, but, equally, enjoy the feeling of returning to London and my familiar haunts. I don’t see any reason to be shy of this.

It’s time we went to Devon again but we won’t make it this year. So many places to go, so little time!

  4. I keep hearing Judy Garland clicking her heels together and chanting “There’s no place like home . . . there’s no place like home.” On the evidence you’ve surely been at play–and at rest–in Oz. Welcome back to Kansas!

  5. Wonderful photos! I’m like you as I’ve always been happier heading homewards.

  6. How pleasant it must be to sail about in a little boat on that lovely little lake.

  7. I love being able to visit your site to see the places I’ve not been, without leaving home! But, I love to go on travels up until I am ready to be home again. Nothing like the feeling of being home.

  8. It sure looks like you had a nice blue-skyholiday 🙂 – I am also one of the lucky people who both love travelling AND being home!

Come on, join in.
