Hips and frost 1-1

Nothing’s changed. It’s still cold, snowy and icy here.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. We thought we were seeing the end of the snow – then last night we were caught in a blizzard on the A171 Whitby Road on the way home We made it – but now we have extra snow in the garden Must get out with my camera and capture – your pictures are awesome

  2. And still beautiful too I see! Those ice crystals are astonishing.

  3. Still bitterly cold here, but thankfully ice/snow free and dry! xx

  4. The leaves look like they’ve been beaded around the edges with crystal beads.

  5. Nothing has changed here, either: since Saturday we are snow-free and loving it. The weather forecasters have promised more snow but we have yet to see it. (Does anyone listen to them? I mean, really, does anyone?)

Mind you, it is cold. Don’t laugh (or should that be “snigger”?) but I always put on longjohns when I go out.

  6. Hello Mrs Uhdd! Finally logged on to comment after all this time following you and hoping you’d pick up my thought waves! Beautiful photos and now I don’t have to lurk in the shadows to look at them! love to all xxx

    • Wahhay, welcome mrsoggonblogg, good to see you here! I’ve been catching bucket loads of your thought waves, speaking of waves did you see this post?
Are you going to make yourself a arty creative avatar?

      • Yes saw that one…I’ve been a loyal follower of all your blogs since Devon. Your pics allow me to escape to the hills before I start work! You’ve had a lot more snow than us. In fact we’ve had barely a sprinkle here….we took our boy and his friends tobogganing on a dry ski slope yesterday to make up for it (and as his 10th birthday party treat!).

Re: avatar. I’ll work on it! (not v computer savvy!)

  7. Just discovered your blog while googling blubell chickens – we bought one this afternoon. Your photos are gorgeous! What chickens do you have?

    • Have fun with your chicken! I get a lot of ‘blog hits’ by people looking for information about bluebells
Our current cast is, 2 Warrens, 1 White Leghorn, 1, Bluebell, 2 Daisybell we are still getting 3-4 eggs a day. I must do a chicken post soon, watch this space
