Spud on Sunday part VI

Spud  the dog ‘helped’ Tom and Joe with a snow construction,

many hands and paws make light work-1

here is the finished item, looking a tad after Goldworthy  in the evening light

Snow den-1

I’d hoped for arty shots of Spud cantering through the snow tunnel, but what I got was lots of shots of Mr Uhdd trying to coax Spud through in the right direction!

This way Spud!-1

Never mind, eh.

As I was saying-1

In one of those spooky sort of moments, as I typed the word Goldsworthy an email from Mr Redcar popped up in the corner of my screen, what was the name of the Goldsworthy book I have? The answer is Time.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Cracking dog. I love this blog, so relaxing after Gadget!

  2. I love Spud’s look of total alertness in the pix of him with the “snow thing” and Mr. Uhdd. What a boy!

  3. You got lovely golden sunlight! And it’s warm enough for packy snow! Now that’s a good winter day. Also a good winter dog.

  4. The continuing adventures of Spud continue to entertain me. Springers are great dogs, full of character. I’d have resorted to a wee trail of treats through the snow tunnel, but them I’m a soft touch for puppy dog eyes.

  5. Does Spud play ‘follow the leader’? Perhaps Mr. UHDD could have shown him the way… 😉
I bet your boys enjoyed rolling, piling and contouring the snow! I’ve always loved it when it is the perfect consistency to make something packable! I see Spud is sporting his lovely Christmassy fur clumps 🙂 Fun and fantastic photos. Stay warm and cozy!

  6. Very Goldworthyesque indeed. What a beautiful landscape.

Come on, join in.
