Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

Snow Return

Ha, that will teach me to get all excited about pollen dusted catkins. It snowed over night and it’s hung around all day. Tom has been out mountain biking, over near Buxton and he tells me there is ‘loads more snow’ it shouldn’t surprise me it’s always a top coat colder in Buxton than anywhere else.

A couple of photos from an altogether brighter day than today,  here the cloud base has been low all day and now we wrapped in fog.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. love the edge on the ivy leaf. its mild here – went for a lovely ride on bonzo this afternoon in wonderful countryside.

  2. It snowed here too. No fun.

  3. Since you keep hens, I thought you might like to investigate this:

Sorry you had snow. It was 81F/27 C Thursday when I was out working in the yard. Your turn will come. . . .

  4. Love the way every detail is etched with a frosty pen.

  5. Aha! Two cars drove through town yesterday, with much snow still clinging to their windows and rooves. They had come from your direction then. Here there was nothing, not even a frost.

  6. I fear we may see more snow this very night! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Come on, join in.
