Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  2. Ah, Sundays….love how his top lip is hanging down in relaxation!!!

  3. Now I feel better about my inability to enforce discipline.

  4. So obviously the ‘on or off the sofa question’ is off the agenda 😉 Comfort is what’s important, and that shot is comfort personified!

  5. Looks like a King Charles cavalier spaniel there not a springer.

  6. Um. I just followed here from Town Mouse. Hello ! The pictures of the helicopter caught my attention. I KNOW that helicopter. Think you might be just around the corner from me. If you’d like to send me an email RaggedThread@hotmail.co.uk that would be lovely and if you want to delete this comment afterwards (no secret on my blog about where I live) then that would be fine by me. Now going to explore your blog further! x

  7. Spud looks like he’s doing a bit of Elvis impersonation, there! I could do with a Springer Spaniel to cosy my feet into.

  8. Reminds me of yesterday when a friend came over for a “TV Sunday.” The cats chose up sides, one or two on the sofa with her, one or two on me in the recliner.

  9. The sheer bliss on the face of Spud is priceless.

  10. Fantastic picture; this is what our dogs REALLY live for – as well as the walks and the stick/ball games!

  11. This is certainly the case of a picture being worth a thousand words.

Come on, join in.
