Spud on Sunday Part XXXVII

Dogs with a passion for apples

Spud the dog continues his apple-fest (yes, on the sofa).

Do dogs like apples -1

There are apples all over the house, every time he goes outside he sneaks one back in with him.

And it seems Spud is not the only dog who is fond of apples (We already  know Joss’ dog has a fancy for them) and on Friday night I caught sight of  gardener Monty Don  on TV along with his dog Nigel (I can’t find a photo of Nigel but I did find Monty)

Nigel has a passion for apples too and I noticed that along with dogs and apples Monty also has a sexy curvy wall in his garden. I’m rather fond of those myself.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Wonderfully charming as your Spud pictures always are, I can’t help feeling secretly pleased that our days as proud and happy dog owners passed away naturally some years ago. I enjoy my peace now.

  2. Entertaining as always, and I remember that post about the curvy wall! xx

  3. Looks as tho the Spudster is in hog, , , er, , , dog heaven. Like they used to say of the great film stars like Swanson and Garbo, “the camera really loves that dog.”

  4. Spud is such an adorable little goofball! He knows he’s cute, too — just look at him mugging for your camera.

  5. Can’t begrudge a guy who’s that happy! And apples are healthy, right?!

  6. It’s not Monty Don’s garden wall that is sexy, Mrs Uhdd, silly! It’s his hairline, I think.

  7. He’s obviously trying to save you money on the vet’s bill … while being utterly adorable at the same time!

  8. The Cowboy begs to inquire why Spud is allowed to ravage apples on the sofa while he (the Cowboy) was chastised severely for absconding with one little salad turnip and chewing it to a nubbin in the back seat of the car. I explained the difference between windfalls and thefts of my supper. I also mentioned his propensity for emitting toxic gases when he has been into the produce. Now he is sulking.

  10. Our springer Coffee has a taste for apples, too. However, one should be careful with apple seeds. Did you know that they’re harmful for dogs since they prevent the blood cells from carrying oxygen? We just found out.

Come on, join in.
