On the Cusp of Spring

We are almost there, almost.

It’s been a full on sort of week, I’m glad to have landed at the weekend. One major event has been soothing and guiding my mum through the hassle  and upheaval of having much of the domestic plumbing replaced in her home, which involved pulling up all the landing floorboards and taking out the loo *sigh*.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. It’s looking very promising.

  2. We appear to be looking at a relatively early spring here with warm sunny days predicted into next week. Wonderful!

  3. Not wishing to frighten the shy little thing, I will not make any mention at all of the possible advent of, um, a different sort of season. But I have been leaving plates of cookies about as an enticement.

Sympathy for the major plumbing project. How nice that you were able to be there to help. It’s hard being 1800 miles away from such fusses.

  4. Beautiful photo… what is the gnarly tree? Love it!!

Come on, join in.
