Delays Expected

Thank you all for your very kind words on my 5th Anniversary post.

I just wanted to give you the heads-up that ‘Spud on a Sunday’ may be a little delayed tomorrow, Spud is going to a party. He is very excited, especially as he has to share the journey with a rather yummy looking cake and a couple of quiches.

When I collected the cake the lady briefed me on keeping it cool during the journey. She looked a little startled when I told her the cake was going to be ‘travelling in the boot with the dog’.   She replied ‘I take it its a little dog?’ I didn’t try to explain.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. The Cowboy wishes to learn how he might acquire a cake. Miss Sadie sends her best wishes for the safe arrival of the excellent treats–and all the family, too, of course.

  2. I for one think pictures of Spud on Sunday traveling with a cake would be excellent 🙂 Hope everything/one arrives safely at the party.

  3. Although there may not be an actual photo of Spud this week, your description of upcoming events, i.e. Cake and Spud travelling together in a car, evokes a picture that is mind boggling 🙂 Good luck!

  4. I hope that you and Spud had a good Sunday. xx

  5. Are you sure it will get there? My old springer once a ate an entire birthday cake [including candles] in the time it took to walk to the front door, sign for a parcel and return to the kitchen!

    • LOL, Spud went through a ‘stealing’ phase when he was a pup, the pack of butter is a memorable occasion; but he is pretty good now, he like to get his nose in the dishwasher if he can though.

Come on, join in.
