How quickly our seaside holiday is becoming a distant memory. How quickly the real world piles in to the vacated mind.
How heavy it has rained today! Just as well I have some holiday snaps to look back at.
On the coast path there were some fine lumps of rock (you know I’m fond of them) ancient gate posts, long since disused girded with hand forged iron.
The remnants of old walls
The bizarre weather we’ve had in UK this summer seems at least to have pleased the costal flowers, or just made them flower later than usual. I can’t ever recall ever seeing quite so many as this year.
Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England.
Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it!
I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing.
On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell!
Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.
Beautiful pictures…you have such a good eye for detail. Lovely reminder of the coast path too. Definitely worth the effort of extricating myself out of the beach chair and getting out along the coast.
But look: the rain has stopped now. Summer’s not over yet! I can’t remember a year when the sunshine started on the first day of the school holidays like it did this year. Usually that is when the rain begins.

Thank you for such a pleasant set of pictures. We’re off on holiday in a month and I hope our weather is as nice as yours was.
