Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

Wet Monday

We are adrift in a sea of mud. The captain has a chart and a compass, it will be OK*. It’s would be helpful if it stopped raining though.

Spud the dog loves mud.

Jammy and Dodger the kitten cats are displaced, their usual home in the utility/porch is no more than a  muddy hole in the ground.

They’ve taken up squatters rights in Spuds bed, it’s  feline Yin and Yang

Feline Yin and Yang_

Occasionally they are willing to share (note Spud’s windfall apple)

*I’ll save the full story of the ground source heat pump for later posts.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Good to see Spud, the other creatures are totally unnecessary!

I am amazed so few in UK have a similar system installed, throughout Switzerland all new builds have this included.

  2. Each and every one of them is so cute!!! Spud is so active and full of live, exactly how a spaniel should be (He is a Springer Spaniel right?)..And the cats, of course they will remain snuggled in a bed what else? I have a feisty English Cocker Spaniel, a naughty Dalmatian and a proud Indian cat and this is what they do all the time….

  3. Dogs and mud just go together….with (formerly) clean floors!

  4. It’s good to see the pets content. I hope that all the work is finished soon and life returns to ‘normal’ for you. xx

  5. Lovely photos that made me smile! 🙂

Come on, join in.
