Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

‘The best thing that you can do for nature is to make it part of your life. That’s why we’re asking thousands of people to make room for nature in their everyday lives this June. Please spread the word amongst friends, colleagues and family and get them to sign up, too! After all, all our lives are better if they’re a bit wild… ‘

I’ve signed up to 30 Days Wild with the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust,  with the aim of blogging each day, a little bit of the nature of my world.

A long and busy day, but I managed to squeeze in a little nature break.  At the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, they have a profusion of daisies

It would be a shame to put them through the lawn mower.

There was a photogenic puppy dashing around

(it looked very small to be in a public park, I hope it’s had its inoculations?)

Later on i noticed lots of families picnicking amongst the flowers, I think that would be rather lovely.

I’m going to sit in the garden with a nice cup of tea.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Just imagine the length of the chain you could make with all those daisies!

Isn’t it a shame puppies don’t stay puppies for longer.

  2. I trust that the tea was brought to you by the butler.

  3. Such a beautiful field of daisies! And that puppy is adorable.

  4. It seems to be a good year for daisies as I’ve seen several such ‘carpet’ pictures recently. The puppy seems to be having fun.
I hope that you enjoyed your cup of tea. xx

  5. The puppies are soooooo cute. The daisies are wonderful

  6. Any day that includes a puppy-sighting is a good day!

Come on, join in.
