I was out and about at Hope Show yesterday, an agricultural show in the glorious Hope Valley.  The weather could have been finer,  but people weren’t going to let a little rain dampen their day.

After all, it is a day off from the usual chores.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. Wonderful pictures. The first and last but one both have me smiling. xx

  2. The sheep eating the rosette reminded me of the occasion HM visited us – and the Welsh Gaurds were in attendence. While everyone – including the escort to the mascot goat – was listening to her speech, the goat was happily chewing on the geraniums. Infuriatingly I didn’t have my camera!

  3. sorry Guards

  4. I didn’t realise Fendt tractors (a local brand here) made it into the UK. I drive one at work which was made in 1972 and is still going strong.

Come on, join in.
