Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

Under the fleece

I’m a bit late into the field on this one, but I hear there is a rather splendid film on BBC 4 at 9pm tonight,  Addicted to Sheep

addicted to sheep

by all accounts it is beautifully shot in stunning landscape. It repeated on Wednesday at 11pm if you miss it tonight.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. I love the photos; I dream about having a small farm from time to time with chickens, goats, and sheep.

  2. I saw it. It was most enjoyable and brought back the smells and sounds of helping with a sheep club in the Highlands forty five years ago.

  3. I will record it later this week, thanks for the tip off. Yes I saw it advertised but hubby had another programme he wanted to watch. It was interesting but can’t remember anything about it – shows how good it was.

  4. Wonderful pictures. I hope that you enjoyed the programme. xx

  5. I’m addicted to wool, and to farmland, and to looking at sheep and horses and cattle. Actually taking care of livestock, not so much. The dogs are about all I can handle. The film would be perfect. Lots of people Around Here would enjoy it.

Come on, join in.
