Watching nature take its course, from the top of a hill in northern England

January, the longest month.

Or so it seems.

Long Hill Fog

just as well February is just around the corner.

Long Hill Fog 2

It’s unlikely to be any warmer but it will be lighter; for that I am thankful.  For the last few days its seemed as if the sky has discharged its greyness into the landscape. It’s difficult to decide where one stops and the other begins.

Watching the rhythm of rural life, from the top of a hill in northern England. Having spent most of my life avoiding writing, I now need to do it! I am no domestic goddess, but if I were expecting visitors to my home, I would whisk round with the duster and plump up the cushions and generally make the place look presentable. I hope that by putting my words where others may see them it will encourage me to ‘tidy up and push the Hoover around’ my writing. On the other hand I may just be adding to the compost heap. Only time will tell! Pull up a chair, sit yourself down, I’ll put the kettle on.

  1. There’s no question the palette is subtle, but I very much like it. There are more colors there than I thought at first, and I love the frosty look. I think the first photo’s especially nice. The curve and the trees would be nice even without the frost.

  2. Beautful mood and colours in your shots, love it!

  3. It sure looks bleak. I hope that it is a bit warmer as seems to have been a long cold month. xx

  4. I would February more if January hadn’t disappeared so quickly. Time speeds up alarmingly as you head towards the buffers.

Come on, join in.
