Interrupting our little jolly around Pembrookshire, I bring you breaking news that Mr Uphilldowndales début TV performance has hit the screens.
The new £3.5million campaign from Hovis featuring a TV ad in which farmers race to promote that it only uses 100% wheat has rolled out to beat this year’s Grand National.
He’s to be seen more than once in different roles, he’s easiest to find in this full length version, 90 seconds ( Frustratingly, I can’t get it to load as a video clip)
We’ve told him not to give up the day job, but he’s done that already…
I think regular readers might recognise the landscape, especially the drystone walls ( note, no drystone wall were injured or harmed in the making of this film). This is the shorter youtube version, 30 sec, without my man.

Bravo! Well done, Mr Uhdd. The Hovis people really do have clever commercials (adverts). I’m much more inclined to watch a commercial like these that are witty and entertaining. Alas, they are few and far between.
i’m number 49 in this advert 🙂
Congratulations to your husband, and thank you for posting your beautiful photographs. I don’t always comment, but I always enjoy.
Just wonderful! It didn’t take long for the ad to be up and running 😉 What a terrific experience to be part of it. Congratulations Mr. UHDD! PS I think you could have been the front runner 🙂
It’s an excellent advert – Hovis ones generally are, but such fun trying to spot Mr Uhdd.
hehe – enjoyed myself trying to guess which one might be Mr. UHDD, would have been more effective if I had the foggiest what he looked like
That’s the thing with blogggers, I had just the same problem trying to find Inspector Gadget down the pub, at least I knew what his dog looked like.
Mr Uhdd appears as a runner and a spectator at the finish, he’s leaning on a gate.
No, I’m sorry. I’ve watched it three times now, and I still can’t spot Mr Uhdd. I didn’t pause on every single frame, but I had a good try with the finish. Amazing that they’ve complete production of this advert so soon. I thought these things took ages.
That’s terrific, don’t let his five minutes of fame go to his head will you! xx
Cute commercial. We don’t have nearly as many good ones here, they are mostly just annoying. What fun to have him in the commercial.
Hey Mr Uhdd,
Our editor spotted the ad on telly and asked me to get in touch with you.
Do you know if anyone took photos of the shoot on the day?
If anyone was involved and would like to submit a photo to firstname.lastname@example.org they can, otherwise give me a call on 01260 273737
Looking forward to hearing from you,
