You couldn’t call it a wood, just a small plantation really. I took these images back on the 3rd of Jan, the sun was shining then, it isn’t now.
Animals take shelter here, Spud the dog loves the place, so many tracks
and scents to follow
Where the wind had forced its way through, the trees were shot blast with snow
unusually, we’d had such snow from the east and the west,
Giving the trees a snowy silhouette,
if viewed from north or south
lovely shots
What a fine spot to chase rabbits! Or, of course, take photographs of snow-blasted trees if you’re more inclined to do that. These are a nice study in the play of light and shadow.
It crosses my mind that the great open spaces near you look quite wild, while the woods seem tamer–exactly the opposite of how it feels to me here. I do enjoy visiting!
Aaah … what a cracking post! One of your very best. I’ve never seen trees looking like that, with snow up them. Beautiful.
Such beautiful photographs as always, hope you’re keeping warm in the big freeze!
The trees with one snow side look magical.
I looked at tree trunk photos(four and seven) and then a tune popped into my head.
Teedy Bear’s Picnic. Great photos.
